Christina Sax, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Christina Sax has 30+ years of higher education leadership, administration, and faculty experience. She is a Harvard University-trained consultant with 20+ years experience providing services for colleges and universities across the U.S. She is a nationally recognized expert in online education and was the Co-Founding Director of the Quality Matters program. Particular areas of expertise include strategic planning, assessment, institutional effectiveness, accreditation, academic innovation, curriculum planning and development, faculty development, online education, science and health and wellness education, and incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in courses and programs. Online education and serving the unique needs of adult and non-traditional learners since 1998 are the unifying themes of Dr. Sax’s higher education career.

Her experience spans the faculty, department chair, dean, associate provost, provost, state system, inter-institutional, and consultant roles. Productive collaborations and partnerships across functional units and institutions are a hallmark of her career.

Dr. Sax has received numerous regional and national awards, serves as a reviewer for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and has served on several regional and national education-related boards and organizations. Her higher education experience builds on 11 years as a research scientist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Chris holds a Ph.D. Human Genetics from the Medical College of Virginia of Virginia Commonwealth University, and a B.S. Microbiology from the University of Rochester. Her grounding in the sciences developed a unique understanding of systems and processes that has proven to be transferrable from the micro level of cells to the macro level of organizations, administration, and leadership.
